Dignified & Old

Holy guac! I turned 27 last week and, with this birthday, I realized that I’ve kind of, you know, become more mature. And stuff. But this increased maturity, I fear, seems to have bred some sort of senior citizen-esque qualities. For instance, in recent months, I’ve been in bed by midnight and awake by 5am. I spent a good half-hour of each day playing Scrabulous. I defrosted my freezer, sealed my air conditioner, and scheduled a dentist appointment…without having been reminded by my awesomely responsible parents! I wear earplugs at concerts now. I’m perfectly content spending Friday nights with a DVD and a glass of wine. Last week I found myself unusually thrilled while purchasing new towels, area rugs, mini-blinds, bedsheets, and a bathrobe. I’ve cut back on coffee and red meat. I’ve also been listening to a lot of Bobby Day.

Okay, actually, Bobby Day is pretty phenomenal. But the early-to-rise schedule, Scrabulous, and healthy eating are WEIRD. Seriously. What’s HAPPENED to me? I used to stay up late, play loud music, and consume massive amounts of caffeine and bacon! Can anyone tell me how to reclaim my youth mojo??? SOS!

However, sometimes I come out of retirement and attend parties! We celebrated Julia’s birthday at the Russian Vodka Room…

…and a lone shot from another night in Soho. We’re classy.
