The French Song

As it turns out, my friend Virginie was holding her birthday party on the rooftop of The Delancey the same night of the Beg Yr Pardon show (see previous post), which made social-scheduling very…facile! I split the evening between the show in the basement and the soiree on the rooftop; here are some photos from the latter.

David, Cheryl, Guillaume, Barbara.

Here I am admiring Cheryl’s new jeans.

Andre and the lovely Virginie.

Are you ONLY friends with the Beautiful People? sheesh.

  2. Jenny Says:

Eric, they ARE pretty good-looking, yeah? Every single one of them (except for me, with my sketchy Alsatian, maybe-French-maybe-not, background) is French. Those French are H-O-T.

And it only gets hotter, I see….

  4. Jenny Says:

It was so hot that…that…that the French chef working the party burned the, um, steak frites. And you know what I said in my lame-ass French? C’est la vie. But the angry French rebelled. Pandemonium, I tell you.

  5. eric Says:

Angry French = tres chaud. Very tres chaud.

  6. Jenny Says:

I could see the tension boiling, so I pulled each party guest aside one at a time and whispered, “Make it happen.” Then all hell broke loose. You should have seen these French kids yelling [in French accent] “If you can’t take the heat, get your ass out the kitchen!” Then we all lamented GĂ©rard Depardieu’s retirement from films.

    hey, what’s on your shirt?

  8. Jenny Says:

Sandie, it’s a vintage shirt with an overexposed image of a sunglassed woman. I think she looks like Nico…but more than one person has asked me if it’s a baby seal. Either way…it’s the softest of soft shirts! Like a baby seal, kinda. Eep! Eep!

    Oh, I see it now!

Before, in that last picture, the left spectacle (my left) looked like a tiny monkey face.

Alsatian chick whipping the French kids into a frenzy = muy caliente!
