Know Your Rights
I jammed so much goddamned fun into my weekend that I almost — almost — didn’t think I could take it any more. On Friday night, I checked out the new Dave & Buster’s arcade/bar on 42nd Street (I cashed in my skeeball/trivia winnings for some sweet glow-in-the-dark lollipops and Nerds on a Rope; I would also like to take advantage of this opportunity to employ the word “fortnight” — the establishment opened two weeks ago). On Saturday afternoon, I did not wear sunscreen; I advise you to do the opposite if you intend on lounging in Central Park’s Sheep Meadow (an oversight on my part; sunburn hurts). I also saw Thank You for Smoking (I advise interested parties to wait for the DVD release); had a bitchin’ time at the Ladytron / French Kicks show at Irving Plaza on Saturday night; and picked up some sweet vintage at Beacon’s Closet on Sunday.
I would also like to mention that I stood mere inches from Conan O’Brien in Central Park and, as a fitting sequel to our first run-in, failed, once again, to utter something witty to the late-night comic superhero.
